Toby Sheldon was found dead in a Motel 6 in the San Fernando Valley on August 21st. Sheldon was best known for spending $100,000 on plastic surgery to look more like Canadian pop star Justin Bieber.

Sheldon, real name Tobias Strebel, was 35 years old. The police told TMZ that drugs were found at the scene but the cause of death has yet to be determined by the Los Angeles Coroner’s Office. When Toby went missing, the LADP said the disappearance might have been triggered by a breakup with his boyfriend. Sheldon appeared on the shows Botched and My Strange Addiction.

Following his own dreams to break into the music industry, Sheldon released his song “The Plastics” in May 2013. In 2014 Sheldon made headlines after his appearance on My Strange Addiction in which he discussed the many surgical procedures he underwent to look like the pop star, including hair transplants, lip surgery, and chin reduction. “What brought me to Bieber was the whole package: the full cheeks, the full temples, the bright open eyes, the full luscious lips, and spacial framing,” he said during his appearance on Botched. “[He’s] just extraordinarily beautiful.”

Sheldon continued to write and record his own music and was shown in the recording studio on a 2014 episode of Botched. “The gift of writing music is not something you can learn. You can have to have that inner creativity; you have to have something to say. You have to be lyrically gifted,” he said at the time. “You have to know what’s catchy. It’s just something I’ve come to master.”
